I grew up in Eastern Idaho, and I'm proud to be a Sugar-Salem Digger. In my family, when the farmers had a bad year-we had a bad year. I was in 4th grade when I found my grandfather, former US Ambassador to Finland Keith Nyborg, in my Idaho History book. I strive to follow in his footsteps through serving others.
My 9 years as an Army wife shaped how I see my world, my value, and my capacity. I learned the value of service and the necessity of community. Our Army friends are our family and we are blessed to have friends all around the world.
I am a community leader passionate about strengthening families and public education. I’ve had the privilege of serving as PTA President and Secretary in two different states and three different schools. I love bringing teachers, families, and policy makers together to build stronger communities and ensure a brighter future for our kids.
Nothing has taught me more about service and sacrifice than my job as Mother. As a mother of six, I bring direct experience with issues families face—education, affordability, healthcare, and community safety.
People are always telling us to SAY NO. I don’t think I would be the person I am today if I hadn’t SAID YES.
-Say YES to the things that challenge you.
-Say YES to serving others.
-Say YES to showing your kids what it means to build community.
-Say YES to stepping out of your comfort zone.
-Say YES when God opens a window, even if you are sure you like the view from your couch.
I’m grateful for my husband who said YES to Army life when I wasn’t so sure and YES to Idaho when our Army chapter was over.
